| 29 Jan 2003 | Xonix | Melian is absolutely amazing, very beautiful and quite un-elf like. Elwe isn't exactly how I imagined him (although that's probably because I always imagin him when he's far older) but I do appreciate how you always seem to draw Noldor, Teleri and Vanyar differently.
This piece of art makes me wonder how much exactly Melian loved Elwe, the Silmarillion doesn't really leave me convinced that Melian loved Thingol very much, especially since in the latter years of their relationship he became entwined with the doom of Mandos due to his greed. | |

I was struck immediately by the obvious sensuality inherent in this drawing. A subtle but real tension between the subjects. The rendering certainly adds a bit more in the terms of color, curvature, and realism in the expressions.
Generally I like all of your art, and the wanton yet sincere sexuality of the women and men is very well done. Not smutty, but artful. I'm always impressed with how you manage to do see through cloths. Not an easy task by any stretch.
Way to go!
Few artists are able to capture both sexuality, and yet keep it pure and not unseemly at the same time. | |
